Paul Newman (1925-2008) was an American actor, film director, and philanthropist. Born on January 26, 1925, in Shaker Heights, Ohio, Newman began his acting career in the theater before making his Broadway debut in "Picnic" in 1953. He gained widespread recognition for his role in the film "Somebody Up There Likes Me" (1956) and went on to become one of Hollywood's leading actors.
Newman's filmography includes iconic roles in movies such as "The Hustler" (1961), "Cool Hand Luke" (1967), and "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" (1969). He received numerous accolades throughout his career, including nine Academy Award nominations, winning the Oscar for Best Actor for his role in "The Color of Money" (1986).
